If you think your care will be wholely privately funded then RNS will invoice you at the beginning of each month and this can be paid by BACs or by cheque. You may qualify for State funding based on your personal financial situation. If you'd like more information on this then please ring the office. Palliative care is always funded by Continuing Health Care and this is assessed either in hospital or by District Nurses in the Community. We look after Palliative clients and then we invoice the CHC.
We can't guarantee you will always see the same carers but you will get to know the carers that work in your local area. As our staff work part time and every other weekend we can't promise you will only see one or two but we do aim for continuity of carers.
Once we've spoken to you on the phone a manager will arrange to come to your house and carry out an initial assessment. This is done free of charge. It is at this point that we will discuss call times and call lengths. We will ask in depth questions about health and medical issues and try to get to know you as a person so that we can tailor the care plan to fit your needs perfectly.
All our carers are DBS checked and are not hired unless they have 3 good references. All the staff are trained in house before they shadow on the rounds, to get to know the clients and the area where they will be working. The carers use mobile phones to access information on an app, about each client and their needs. Important personal information is only accessible to the carer visiting that day and keysafe numbers etc are stored within the app.
Yes we can help to administer medication. Staff are fully trained and record all medication administration on our app. This can be accessed by the office and changed appropriately at a moment's notice.
We have an on call service between the hours of 5pm and 9 am the following day and throughout the weekend. Our experienced on call staff will take messages and help solve problems, if they are unsure about anything they can always refer to a manager.
Yes we will. In the past we have cared for a myriad of family pets including peacocks, parrots, horses, dogs and cats etc.
Please ring the office and ask to speak to a manager. We are always happy to discuss your concerns and we will aim to sort any problems.
If the carer is carrying out personal care we would like them to wear uniform but if the call is for companionship then its fine for them to not wear uniform.
No PPE is provided by the government at present but even outside of Covid times RNS covers these costs.
